Swallow, Momma Kitty and Dave have arrived in Canada!

A couple days ago motored across Boundary Pass from Stuart Island, San Juan Islands, to Bedwell Harbour and cleared customs. At the unstaffed boarder station I used the courtsey phone for a quick and easy call – Canada makes it simple and welcoming.

Wind and current were against Swallow the entire way. A blow was forecast so I wanted to cross Boundary Pass quickly. The significant smoke from the B.C. forest fires also motivated me to slip across without running into any large ship’s (monitoring VHF channel 11 and we crossed in front of two).
After an afternoon and night anchored at Bedwell we moved to Port Browning to go shopping, take a shower and do laundry.
I’m enjoying your new blog. Does Momma Kitty ever get sea sick?

She has never thrown up. When the boat is healing and/or pounding in the sea.she isn’t happy until she settles into a corner and goes to sleep.
