Another great day sailing

Had another great sail going from Blake Island State Park to Gig Harbor. Wind out of the north 10-15kts all the way from Blake to just around the turn at Point Robinson.

WA State ferry passes SWALLOW’s stern.

The new sails by Elliott-Pattison Sailmakers have been working wonderfully. I’m also really liking having a whisker pole as this makes off-wind sailing SO much more efficient. The headsail is 130% so this gives SWALLOW more horsepower than with her original 110%.

SWALLOW going wing-on-wing.

After turning at Pt. Robinson did some going to weather in wind ranging from 12-15kts to ghosting. The new sails did great in these conditions moving SWALLOW right along.

Going upwind with the headsail reefed to about 90%.

At Gig Harbor will do some grocery shopping and drop by West Marine to collect the free boating publications: 48 North, Latitude 38 and Northwest Yachting. I’m also hoping to find a laundromat.

Riding the bus as downtown Gig Harbor no longer has a grocery store near the water.
